This privacy policy covers the iPhone app Aurora: Arcade & Puzzle Games (previously called Aurora: Games & Puzzles, Aurora Minigames and Aurora Queens), "the app", and the website kneadit.no. It explains what information is used, by whom and why, how long it is kept, and what choices and rights you have.
1. Who is responsible
The app and the website are made by Ronnie Rønning Nilsen, trading as KneadIT, Norway. Contact: support@kneadit.no. For the personal data we handle ourselves (section 3), we are the data controller under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which applies in Norway through the EEA Agreement.
2. The short version
The app has no user accounts, and we run no servers that receive data from it. We never ask for your name, email address or other personal details in the app.
Your progress stays on your device and in your own iCloud account. We cannot see it.
Ads are provided by Google AdMob. Google may process data to show and measure ads, as described in section 5. Where the law requires it, the app asks for your consent first, and you can change your choices at any time.
We don't use analytics, and we don't sell your personal information for money.
3. Data we receive ourselves
The only personal data that reaches us is what you send us yourself, for example when you email support@kneadit.no: your email address, your message and anything you attach. We use it only to answer you and solve your request (legal basis: our legitimate interest in helping you, GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). We keep support emails for as long as needed to handle your request and delete them no later than 12 months after the conversation ends, unless the law requires us to keep them longer.
4. Data stored on your device and in your iCloud
Your games in progress, scores, stars, streaks, collectibles and settings are saved on your device. If you are signed in to iCloud, the same data is synced through Apple's iCloud key-value storage in your own iCloud account, so it follows you to your other devices. It is stored by Apple under Apple's privacy policy (https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/), and we have no access to it. The app also reads a public list from Apple's iCloud (CloudKit) that tells it which games are available; it sends nothing about you, and it works without an iCloud account.
To delete it: deleting the app removes it from your device. To stop syncing or remove the iCloud copy, turn off iCloud for the app in iPhone Settings > [your name] > iCloud, or contact us and we will help.
5. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The free version of the app shows ads from Google AdMob (provided by Google Ireland Limited in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, and by Google LLC elsewhere): short full-screen ads between games, and optional ads you choose to watch to get a hint or another helper.
To show and measure ads and to prevent fraud, Google's software in the app may collect: your IP address, which is used to estimate a rough location (city or region, never your precise location); device identifiers, including the advertising identifier (IDFA) only if you allow tracking; device and app information such as model, operating system, language and app version; information about the ads you see and tap; and crash and performance information about the ad software.
Google uses this data as an independent controller, as described in Google's privacy policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy) and on https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Ads may also come from other advertising companies through Google; they are listed in the consent message.
Your choices
In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, the app shows Google's consent message before any ad is requested, so you can accept or refuse personalised ads and the storing of information on your device. You can change your choice at any time in the app under Settings > Ad privacy choices. If you refuse, you may still see non-personalised ads, which use limited data (for example to limit how often an ad is shown and to prevent fraud).
iOS asks whether the app may track you (App Tracking Transparency). If you say no, your advertising identifier is not shared. You can change this at any time in iPhone Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
You can turn off personalised ads at any time in the app under Settings > Personalized ads.

Ads in the app are limited to content suitable for general audiences with parental guidance (Google's "PG" rating).
6. Purchases
In-app purchases are handled by Apple. We never see your name, Apple ID or payment details. The app only checks on your device, through Apple's StoreKit, which purchases you own, so it can turn the right features on.
"Remove Ads" (sold until version 3.0): no ads of any kind.
"No forced ads" (from version 3.0): no ads between games; the optional ads for helpers stay available.
7. Notifications
If you turn them on, the app schedules daily and streak reminders as local notifications on your device. Nothing is sent from a server. You can turn them off in the app's Settings or in iPhone Settings > Notifications.
8. Legal bases (GDPR)
Personalised ads, and storing or reading information on your device for ads: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time in Settings > Ad privacy choices.
Non-personalised ads, ad measurement and fraud prevention: legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) in funding a free app and keeping ads safe and working. Google may rely on its own legitimate interests for parts of this, as described in its privacy policy. You can object at any time (section 10).
Support emails: as described in section 3.
9. Your rights in US states with privacy laws
If you live in California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon or another US state with a consumer privacy law, you may have the right to know what personal information is processed about you, to access, correct and delete it, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for targeted advertising. We don't sell personal information for money, but providing data to Google for personalised ads may count as "selling" or "sharing" under these laws.
To opt out, open the app and go to Settings > Ad privacy choices and choose not to sell or share your data, or turn off Personalized ads. The categories of personal information involved are identifiers, internet or other electronic network activity (ad interactions) and approximate location. We don't process sensitive personal information, and we will never treat you differently for using your rights. For any other request, email support@kneadit.no.
10. Your rights (EEA, UK and elsewhere)
You have the right to access, correct and delete personal data about you, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing before you withdrew it. Because we hold no data about you except support emails, ad choices are best changed in the app, and requests about advertising data can be made to Google (https://policies.google.com/privacy). For anything else, email support@kneadit.no. We answer within one month.
You can also complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet, https://www.datatilsynet.no) or to the data protection authority where you live.
11. Transfers outside the EEA
Google may process advertising data outside the EEA, including in the United States. For these transfers Google relies on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
12. How long data is kept
Data on your device: until you delete the app. Data in your iCloud: until you remove it. Advertising data: kept by Google under its own retention policy (https://policies.google.com/technologies/retention). Support emails: see section 3.
13. Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age for consent in your country), and we don't knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, email us and we will delete it.
14. The website kneadit.no
The website is hosted on Google Sites. It has no forms, analytics or advertising. Google processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver and protect the pages, as described in Google's privacy policy.
15. Security
We keep the data we handle to a minimum. Data in the app stays on your device and in your iCloud account, protected by Apple's security, and the app sends nothing to servers of ours.
16. Changes
If this policy changes, we update the date at the top. For significant changes, we also mention them in the app's release notes.
